Professor, writer, and independent researcher Kat Lahr spent the last eight years researching the current state of the healthcare industry in her role as a university professor to educate current and future leaders. What she found astounded her. Now as a public service, she is bringing the conversation to the people as a way to inform healthcare consumers through her community talks and book series. Her passion for public health has given her appointment by a former Illinois Governor on the Illinois State Health Improvement Planning Council where she hopes to positively influence health policy.

Eight years a professor, but public health advocate for life. See testimonials from Kat’s past students.
“Prof. Lahr has been exemplary, her ideas and the way she transfers her knowledge to the students is just perfect.” -- Deepak Amarnath
“The element which struck me most is the professor’s approach towards the subject matter. I liked how she would organize the material and layout of each class essentially. This type of systematic approach not only helped me to grasp material relating to the course but also taught me an additional skill of being highly organized. I would like to thank Professor Lahr for helping us build the knowledge and strengthening it. She is one of the highly energetic professors in the university, loved by all and an inspiration icon.” -- Rakesh Prabhakar
“Professor Lahr's passion and enthusiasm was refreshing and she went above and beyond in her teaching. She is truly a master at her craft. I can't say enough good things about Professor Lahr.” -- Anonymous
There is a proverb that says give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and you feed him for lifetime. This is what Professor Lahr did to us throughout this course. I was very lucky to have her as my professor. I can say that her style of teaching is innovative and she was able to break things down to make it easier to understand. -- Teja Satwik
